SOCIAL POLLING

The concept behind this has been used frequently throughout large social media apps (Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook), but we noticed no product occupied a single space in which a user with zero following could gain a response from the masses.

We needed to hit the mark here. Build a product that promotes gamification and enable a self-sustaining sytem that incentivizes voting in an effort to obtain your own results through promotion.

HOW I CONTRIBUTED

My team and I worked on the product from it's initial idea, strategy, project planning,  design, development, and post-launch transition.

What did I do? I worked throughout the product strategy sessions, performing a large portion of the initial research. From there, I led sketching, prototyping, and finalized direction. Afterwards, I took on the responsibility of presenting to potential investors.

Post launch I continued to gather user feedback and with my team, implement UX changes in relations to the product’s ecosystem.

MAIN CHALLENGE

GAMIFICATION

Crafting a product that works as a self-sustaining ecosystem was difficult from the very beginning. We needed an incentive for users to vote on another user’s poll.

This would be a feature that allows them to build up currency, enabling a user to promote their own poll. This yields higher self-gratification upon receiving results and a thorough, mass response.

Our first attempt to solve this... was a success. Why? Keep reading.
